Towards the end of the fourth quarter PTC launched a new Value Added Reseller (VAR) program in order to expand the servicing of existing and potential clients. This program was created to offer PTC customers additional expertise on PTC's MCAD products as well as specialized knowledge in particular vertical markets. "An effective indirect channel will ensure that our MCAD customers are well served," states Jon Stevenson, executive vice president and general manager, MCAD, at PTC. "By getting serious about channel sales, we support our mission to keep PTC's product development solutions at the top of the marketplace. We're giving customers greater access to our MCAD products, and greater deployment and consulting support."

February 2001 marked the beginning of a unique partnership between PTC and Innova Engineering, Inc. PTC signed on Innova as a specialized VAR specifically focused on the unprecedented Pro/Intralink and ProductView ASP model that Innova offers. Larry McMenamy, vice president of Worldwide Channel Sales at PTC, stated, "We've signed partners who we believe can deliver more precisely and more efficiently what our customers need." Innova is the only VAR able to offer the option of leasing or selling Pro/Intralink and ProductView in conjunction with their engineering and consultative services, offering a total solution package tailored to a client's specific needs. Concurrently, Innova will also be able to offer the entire product line that PTC has to offer.
